The Oswayo Valley Memorial Library will hold a yard and book sale on Friday, June 27, from 10-4, and Saturday, June 28, from 10-2.  Books will be on sale for $2 a bag.

This year’s Coldspring Town Picnic will take place at the Coldspring Fire Hall on Saturday, June 28, and will feature a Wood Cutting Competition.  This Competition will be open to people in the wood cutting industry, and begins at 4:00pm.  Competitors must have Chain Saw Chaps and Eye Protection.  The wood cutting competition costs $10 to enter.  To register, call Jeff Frank, at (716)572-9244.

The African Center for Cultural Development will hold Juneteenth 2025 on Saturday, June 28, from noon-3:00pm, at Olean’s Bethany Lutheran Church.  The event will be a neighborhood party, with music, great food and other activities.  For more information, check their social media pages.

The Shinglehouse Volunteer Fire Department will hold their Funfest 2025 event on Saturday, June 28, at the Fire Hall.  The day includes a Parade that starts at 11:00…a Chicken BBQ starts at noon, and Water Fights begin at 1:00.  For more information, look up the Shinglehouse Fire Department Facebook page.

The City of Olean’s Youth Bureau and Recreation Department will hold their annual Youth Fishing Derby on Saturday, June 28, starting at 9:30 at Forness Pond.  This is a free event…registration takes place from 9:30-10:00, with fishing from 10-noon.  There’s two age groups-younger than 10 years old, and 10 and older…participants over the age of 16 must possess a valid NYS Fishing License).  Prizes will be awarded at the conclusion of the event.  The Olean Rod and Gun Club will provide hot dogs and pop to participants.  The sponsors include Whitetail Country Sports World, the Olean Rod and Gun Club and the City of Olean Youth Bureau.
