Olean Youth and Recreation's Spooky Island Halloween Safety Show

4:30 pm - 7:30 pm

The Olean Youth and Recreation Department presents “The Spooky Island Halloween Safety Show on Friday, October 17, at the former St. John’s School on North Union Street,  There are two shows, at 4:30 and 6:00, featuring popular kids and family entertainer Checkers the Inventor.  These shows include audience participation, and lots of fun for all ages.  For more information, check the Youth and Recreation Department’s social media pages.

Coudersport American Legion Auxiliary Chili Cook-Off

11:00 am - 2:00 pm

The Coudersport American Legion Auxiliary Unit 192 will hold a Chili Cook-Off Contest on Saturday, October 18, from 11am-2pm.  It’s $15 to enter the contest, with discounts for pre-registration.  Chili Tasters pay $8, which allows you to sample all the entries.  There are cash prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.  Proceeds from the Cook-Off will benefit Veterans, their families and the community.  For more information, contact Courtney, at (814)467-7451

Teacher's Pet Rescue Adoption Event

Master Gardners of Cattaraugus County Fundraiser

Master Gardners of Cattaraugus County invite you to their 1st-ever fundraiser, called “Creatures of the Night”.  It’s a family-friendly event that will take place Saturday, October 18, from 4-7pm, at the Cornell Cooperative Extension office on Parkside Drive in Ellicottville.  Admission is $15, or $30 for up to a family of four.  Included in the admission includes a Hot Dog Dinner, two speakers and family fun.  All proceeds will benefit educational outreach and programming in Cattaraugus County.  Tickets can be purchased at the door, or via email:  cattaraugusmg@cornell.edu.  You can also order tickets by phone, at (716) 699-2377, extension 127.
