St. Paul's Lutheran Church Chicken BBQ

St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Ellicottville will serve up a Carson’s Chicken BBQ on Friday, August 29, serving chicken at their location from 11:30-5:00, or until sold out.  You get a half-chicken and two sides for $18(cash only).  Proceeds from the dinner will benefit the church’s parking lot project.

Benefit Salamanca Softball Game

Pfeiffer Nature Center Walks

The Pfeiffer Nature Center will hold a couple of special nature walks on August 29-30.  On Friday, August 29, join AKT Combative Academy for a self-defense nature walk seminar.  The walk takes place from 6-8pm at the Nature Center’s Pavillion.  On Saturday, August 30, join Royal Fern Nursury, LLC for a guided nature walk and native plant sale, which runs from 2-5pm.  For information on both of these events, go to the Pfeiffer Nature Center website:  pfeiffernaturecenter.org.

Friends of the Olean Library's "Read Between The Wines"

7:00 pm - 9:30 pm

Tickets are now available for the Friends of the Olean Library, Incorporated’s “Read Between the Wines” Fundraising event.  The event takes place Friday, September 5, from 7-9:30, at the Library, 134 North 2nd Street.  A variety of wines, along with light appetizers will be on the menu, and guitarist Brian Lothridge will perform.  The night will also include basket raffles and other fundraisers.  Tickets are $25 each, or $45 per couple, and are available at the Olean Public Library.  There are special prices for Designated Drivers.

Ceili Rain Concert @ St. Bonaventure Parish

5:15 pm - 10:00 pm

St. Bonaventure Parish in Allegany presents the Internationally Famous Celtic Pop-Rock group Ceili in concert on Friday, September 5, in the church parking lot.  Gates open at 5:15, with the concert starting at 6:00.  The Bossman BBQ Food Truck will be available for refreshments.  Bring your own chairs and blankets and enjoy the evening!  A free will donation will be collected.

Allegany County Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day

The Allegany County Department of Public Works will hold its annual Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day on Saturday, September 6, from 8-noon, at the Allegany County Landfill in Belmont.  Some of the most common items that will be accepted include Oil-based paints, pesticides, fertilizers, pool chemicals and cleaning chemicals.  Pre-registration is required, and space is limited.  To register, or for more information, contact Tim Palmiter, at (585) 268-7282.
