The City of Olean’s Youth Bureau and Recreation Department’s Lincoln Park Summer Concert Series will offer three concerts in the month of September.  All three will take place at the Gazebo, from 6-8pm, and are free.  September’s schedule:

Thursday, September 5:  Roger Pettengil (70’s singer and songwriter)

Thursday, September 12:  Allegany Alumni and Friends Band

Thursday, September 19:  Red Gray (Country)

The Allegany County Firemen’s Auxiliary will meet Thursday, September 19, at the Duke Hose Fire Company in Wellsville.  The meeting begins with a Tureen Dinner at 6:30pm…please bring a dish to pass and your own table service.  A “Brown Bag Auction” will take place at the meeting.

The Challenger Learning Center in Allegany will celebrate 15 years of serving the Twin Tiers with a Chicken BBQ and Open House on Saturday, September 21, from 4-6pm.  Chicken BBQ tickets are available for $15 each…tickets can be purchased online at:  www.challengertwintiers.org.  Pick up your dinners between 4-6pm, and take a tour of the Center.  The dinners are being prepared by Carson’s BBQ.

The SPCA in Cattaraugus County presents its Pawsitively Purrfect Fall Fling Saturday, September 21, from 5-9pm, at the Olean Pulaski Club.  The event includes a cocktail hour, from 5-6pm…a buffet dinner from 6-7pm, and dancing to the music of Generations from 7-9pm.  Fundraisers will be held during the event.  All proceeds benefit the SPCA in Cattaraugus County.  Tickets are now available at the SPCA, the Pulaski Club, La Dolce Vita, and from Askey’s.

The Olean-Portville Lions Club and the Hamilton Court #2, Order of the Amaranth will hold the 5th annual Margaret Kenney Memorial Joint Euchre Tournament to Fight Diabetes on Saturday, September 21, at the Allegany American Legion.  Registration begins at 11:00am, with cards dealt at noon.  A $15 donation will be accepted at the door, with proceeds to benefit Diabetes Research.

The Hinsdale American Legion Post 1434 Sons of the American Legion will hold a benefit Chicken BBQ on Saturday, September 21st, with Chicken available from noon until sold out.  Dinners are $15 apiece, with the proceeds donated to the L.E.E.K Veterans Hunting and Mountain Preserve.  Pre-orders for Chicken are encouraged…call (716)557-8716 to order, and please pick up your pre-orders by 1:00 on the 21st.
